Add paragraph text here. For the majority of people, all document holders are the same no matter what size or at what angle they can be positioned. Well, I am here to tell you that this is not the case - every type of document holder despite having the same purpose it can execute it differently. There are certain features that can change the way you look at one and either make it useful or useless depending on your needs. To make sure you get the most out of an ergonomic document holder we've compiled a list of features to help you with it.
Size
Add paragraph text here. Having the right size holder will save you desk space hence why you need to consider the size of the document. For example, most offices use A4 (210 mm x 297 mm) paper and while a bigger holder will allow you to have more pages at once it will certainly take up more space. I advise you to get the corresponding one as you don't want to sacrifice on desk space. There are ergonomic document holders that can hold A3 (210 mm x 420 mm) paper but if you are working with a bigger paper size (which I doubt) then I'd suggest you get a separate desk.
Strength
Strength is also important if you happen to be using heavier books or a ledger all the time. Your holder won't snap just like that if you put a heavy book on it but over time cracks will start to appear and it will get flimsy until it does break. Steel ergonomic document holders are the solution to this but make sure they don't have sharp edges - paper cuts are nothing compared to cold metal.
Adjustability
For some of you this may be a deal breaker and for others, well, not so much. The level of adjustability doesn't come the same with every holder, as some can fit well with the rest of the surroundings and others are just here so you can rest your documents in one position only without resting your neck. Well, these are the fixed height holders, which usually sit between the keyboard and monitor.
Second, in line, are the so-called "Height-Adjustable" holders that have a range of preset heights that you can choose from. Last but not least you have the Fully-Adjustable holders which allow you to not only adjust their height at any angle but also to adjust the depth and the angle of the document itself.
Durability
Now, there isn't much wear and tear that comes from handling paper, but if you want a holder that can serve you in the years to come, you'll have to consider the materials it's made of. I know we went over the strength of one but no matter how strong of a holder you get, if it starts to bend from the weight of a 500-page book in the first two weeks of using it then you should chuck it away. Metal is a great choice but if its a thin sheet of it you are going to be better of going with a plastic one.
