If you are one of those people that like going on an outdoor adventure or put yourself to the test, then you sure do need tactical equipment, and you won't need to spend your entire life savings on it - the essentials are going to be enough. While it is good to get out of our comfort zone from time to time, we should make sure it doesn't become a danger zone while at it. At the end of the day, it's better to spend your money on gear rather than pain medication. Let's check out each one of them.
Knife
As an obvious and much-needed tool as well, the tactical knife should be your primary tool for either self-defence or everyday use. You can't be using a tactical knife for whatever you want, rather decide on what you'll specifically use it for and only use it for that, as you don't want to end up with a blunt knife sooner than later. As amongst the very top of the tactical gear essentials, you'll want to get a sturdy AUS 8 steel knife with a full compact tang that has a nice grip to it.
Boots
Tactical boots are well important as you will probably be going through a lot of muddy and wet terrain. Obviously here you'd want to get leather-made with an oil and slip resistant outsole and moisture wicking lining. A pair of tactical boots won't just keep your feet warm but they will also provide you with extra stability and support, with solid quality boots having a semi-rigid heel and toe reinforcement.
Flashlight
We all know the benefits of a flashlight and you probably have one at home, but what makes this piece of tactical gear different from others is the lumens it can produce in comparison to its small form-factor. A standard tactical flashlight will have an output of 212 lumens on strobe/ high mode and 16 lumens on low while having 2-meter impact resistance and waterproof construction, with both an intelligent and momentary-on switch.
Jacket
You were definitely expecting a jacket to be mentioned at some point here - but any type of jacket is not going to do the same job as a tactical jacket. An of the shelf tactical jacket will either be made from a soft fleece or a polyester with a breathable mesh lining. You should also expect a solid jacket to be wind a water repellant and to have storm cuffs and zipping handwarmer pockets.
Watch
A tactical watch is going to make you feel like the next James Bond, in a less fancy way though. A solid type of watch will provide with information like elevation level, humidity, GPS some health information and of course the time. Also, a tactical watch should have a stainless steel casing and a rubber strap for all-weather protection and waterproof abilities. I know a smartphone and a smartwatch are able to do what a tactical watch does, but what sets it apart is the durability in both materials and usage.
